By: j | January 10th, 2009
CSKA Moscow has formally announced that Zico has signed to a three year contract. In taking over for the legendary Valeri Gazzaev, the new leader acknowledged the the tradition of success:
“CSKA are a big European club with a rich tradition of winning. I’m a winner too and will do my best to continue Valeri Gazzaev’s success.”
The resume of Zico is quite obviously a great one and needs little introduction. The legendary player has carried on in the managerial world, possessing the touch of Midas with Fenerbahçe and Uzbekistan side FC Bunedkor. As reported earlier, he will be a perfect fit for the club as it grows in worldwide prominence. Given the club takes and active role in the development of Brazilian players with the youth system, this can only be seen as situation that they will benefit for years to come.
