Zenit St Petersburg v CSKA Moscow at the half
By: j | July 30th, 2008What a perfect match to start with in this blog because the first forty-five minutes have been end-to-end beautiful football. While there have been numerous chances the match still is deadlocked at nil score.
CSKA’s Valery Gazzaev has made a series of changes to his lineup featuring Vágner Love the eighteen year-old Alan Dzagoev as the Striking duo and they have not disappointed with numerous chances and creativity. As I noted, Alan Dzagoev is glorious talent who is starting to flourish as he gains confidence. Brazilian midfielder Dudu (Cearense) has missed a number of chances, in particular a header off a corner at the twenty-sixth minute but it also starting to lose his temper.
Zenit equally have had there chances and possibly none better than Igor Denisov just striking wide from 20 meters out, set-up from a stunning backheel by Argentine Alejandro Domínguez who you might recall from River Plate. Alejandro started up front with Andrei Arshavin and Viktor Fayzulin. Andrei has created a number of good opportunities and looking up to his creative best.
