Vágner Love destroys FC Moscow with four goals

By: j | November 10th, 2008

Deadlocked with Dynamo Moscow for the all-important second spot, Valery Gazzaev lead CSKA Mocow to a defining 4-0 triumph over FC Moscow with Vágner Love stealing the show with four goals. The victory returns the three-point advantage to Koni with two matches left to play.

While sitting ninth in the table, optimism flourished around the Citizens as they were unbeaten in five matches, starting with their brilliant 1-0 defeat over this years champions Rubin Kazan. However the flame of optimism was quickly extinguished as Oleg Blokhin’s forces were broken down systematically by CSKA. Although the first few minutes of the match looked favourable for the Citizens, Vágner Love gave CSKA Mosow the lead only six minutes after the start after he collected a brilliant pass in the center of the box from teenage sensation and now Russian ‘capped Alan Dzagoev. Easily to be forgotten in this match was the extraordinary work of Alan Dzagoev as a provider and showing confidence and ball-handling skills yet to-be-seen. At only eighteen years of age, every match his abilities seem to take another step forward and tonights performance may have been his best to date as he emerged from a realm of goal poacher to play-maker. Seventeen minutes after the initial goal a well placed corner by young Mr. Dzagoev was flicked on and eventually headed into the net by Vágner Love for his second goal of the day. With the lead now two goals the Citizens pushed to draw one back and with roughly five minutes to the break they appeared to have it off a free-kick but a horribly late offside call pulled the goal back. Similarly just after the break they had another goal pulled back drawing whistles from the home supporters. However Vágner Love evening wasn’t complete as he added this third and fourth goal of the match at the fifty-fourth and sixty-first minute. The Citizens were finally again to break through with roughly ten minutes remaining as Alexander Samedov crafted his way around the CSKA defenders and humbly dished the ball back across to Héctor Bracamonte. With the match now 4-1, it slowly wound down with CSKA Moscow garnering an important victory.

vagner has always been a good foward but now he’s on fire. i think he might move to real madrid! they apparently are in the market as van nistelrooy is out injured and cska would enjoy the large transfer. and i dont believe the arshavin story for a second. he is either going to tottenham, or small chance of another club, but definately not real, no matter how badly he kicks’ their ass in their upcoming champions league meeting.
