Terek Grozny long term plans
By: j | January 18th, 2009Last season marked a number of exciting events in Russia, from the development of Alan Dzagoev, the championship of Rubin Kazan and the brilliant leadership of Valery Gazzaev. However one of the less talked about moves was the brilliant leadership that manager Vyacheslav Grozny provided his club Terek Grozny.
During the summer the club added Florentin Petre, Andrei Mărgăritescu and Daniel Pancu, all capped for Romania and the impact was swift and efficient as the talented trio provided the club the experience it needed.
In speaking to media giant “Sport Express” he revealed the clubs plans for growth:
“It’s always inconvenient to head the team when the season is in full swing and you didn’t have a chance to prepare for the campaign in winter. When you prepare the team for the season, you can see the process of training of all players, their reaction on the workload.
“I watched Russian championship in Ukraine and I undertood that Terek won’t achieve something significant in Premier League. Problems with lineup, awful tactics and unsureness should have led them to a failure.
“First of all, we strengthened the squad with Romanian trio and bought several strong players. At the same time we taught them change their tactics during the games. Gradually we established psycology of winners in the team, that will be very helpful in key episodes.
“The main target of pre-season preparations is improving physical form and watching possible newcomers in action. We have already played two games – against Carpat and Izmirspor. Two meetings are scheduled before the end of this camp. After that we will return to Antalla again.
“The third training camp will possible held in Spain. We will strengthen playing ties and determine the lineup, which will start new season.
“Preparations will conclude with a session in Kislovodsk, where we will train both at natural and artificial surfaces.
“Terek is not backed by such financial giants as Lukoil, Gazprom, Russian Railways or VTB. That’s why if we want to compete with Zenit, Lokomotiv, Spartak and CSKA, we should firstly create a modern club infrastructure, build our own training base, new stadium, that will require much time.”
