Spartak collapse late and miss on UEFA Cup
By: j | December 19th, 2008After taking a two goal lead on a opportunistic brace by young-gun Artem Dzyuba at twenty three and thirty three minutes, Spartak Moscow collapsed and allowed two late goals by Tottenham to draw the match level at 2. With the draw Spartak falls out of the next round of the UEFA Cup with NEC Nijmegen climbing into the third spot. However with twenty-three minutes remaining Croatian international Luka Modrić drew one back before Tom Huddlestone headed home to equalizer seven minutes later. With the loss Michael Laudrup extends a completely unacceptable final run of the season in which they won only once in their final seven matches.
