The clubs met in the second week of the campaign with Saturn Moscow getting off to a fast start led by Martin Jakubko who is now with FC Khimki and along with an assortment of other changes, that decision is difficult to fully value in our analysis. However possibly more important to understand is that Grozny has not been very kind to visitors and the club’s record is considerably better at home.
It should also be pointed out that Saturn Moscow Oblast’s heavy schedule, including their recent European date with Sttugart, influenced their dreadful 4-0 effort against Samara Kryliya Sovetov on Wednesday so that must be considered. The team possess a solid wealth of talent and are lead by a brilliant manager, Gadzhi Gadzhiev, who can certainly right their course. There back-line is anchored by Russian international Vadim Evseev and in the midfield, Andrei Karyaka will dictate the attack with his trademark flair and creativity. The experienced striking duo of Marko Topić and Dmitri Kirichenko can score if left unmarked and must be marked closely or Saturn will leave Grozny with three points and back in the thick of a European bid.
Terek Grozny has been going through a revolving lineup with little commonalties from week to week in attacking mode. Typically they have used a 4-4-2 but tend to move back a bit, with less attacking and stack into a 4-5-1. Vladimir Kuzmichyov has been the one constant in the assault but recently they brought in Romanian International Daniel Pancu from Rapid Bucureşti and he could pay massive dividends. Daniel could be the hidden gem in signings as he still possesses a keen touch around the goal and guild of a seasoned veteran. The veterans versatility and guile will make him a huge asset in the second half of the season.
Don’t miss out on another of this weeks great matches in the Russian Premier League!
