“repeat our achievement of 2005?”

By: j | October 23rd, 2008

In commenting to the press Valeri Gazzaev noted CSKA Moscow’s chances of repeating their 2005 UEFA Cup title:

“CSKA are a high-level European side with good players and a professional staff and on top of that we have had some good results in recent months. So, why shouldn’t we be able to repeat our achievement of 2005?”

Koni is playing brilliantly since July and remarkably are undefeated once it was announced that Mr. Gazzaev would vacate his spot at the end of the campaign.

In discussing todays opposition, Deportivo La Coruña he commented:

“We know Deportivo very well. They are very good defensively, but in general they are an average Spanish team with rich traditions. These are not their best times.”

With all this in mind, the question begs to be asked; How could CSKA Moscow management not try to lure Mr. Gazzaev back? His wealth of experience is some of the finest in Russia and he understands the unique aspect of balancing youth development with bring in Footballers from around the world. In my opinion their is none better to lead the Moscow institution forward.
