Lokomotiv Moscow @ Luch-Energiya Vladivostok match preview

By: j | September 19th, 2008

This is a fascinating match simply because while Luch-Energiya is perilously close to relegation, many clubs find the their efforts in Vladivostok fall short. By all accounts this should be Lokomotiv’s day but can they overcome the problems that so many have faced.

Repeating my earlier comments, this should be Lokomotiv’s match as they are a significantly better club. With pedigree the likes of Russian capped Dmitri Sychev, Diniyar Bilyaletdinov, Dmitri Sennikov, Renat Yanbayev and Dmitri Torbinski, Romanian striker Răzvan Cociş and Serbia’s Marko Baša how this club isn’t challenging for the upper reaches of the table is a bit of a mystery. Truthfully, I would like to see them make it to European competition purely from the standpoint of watching good Football but they will need to overcome Luch-Energiya’s home fortress in Vladivostok. Of recent the best in the league have fallen short, so this makes this a fascinating match to watch.

I will report on it with my weekend round-up of the Russian Premier League.
