Khimki v Rubin Kazan match preview
By: j | August 21st, 2008Within my preliminary league-wide preview I invariably mention that the weekend is packed with great matches. Hmm…well to be completely truthful, this is likely not one of them as this is simply the top of the table versus the bottom and Rubin Kazan is playing with a ruthless tenacity as it can see a Champions League bid within its grasp.

I suppose “anything is possible” however an upset does not seem in the cards. Rubin Kazan is rested and looked unstoppable in their most recent home match when they destroyed Zenit 4-1. The attack is clicking of all cylinders and with the exclusion of only Sergei Semak who had international duty this week, they should be well rested. Khimki, even with Yegor Titov should pose no problem to the table leaders and Rubin Kazan’s manager Kurban Berdyyev can leave his beads at home for this one.
