The clubs played to a 3-3 draw in the third week of the season but since then Khimki has had numerous problems and displayed poor defensively play on the road. This is Spartak’s match and they need to come out very agressively as Khimki tends to fall apart with an once scored upon. Simply stated, this is the best offensive attack against the worst defense and a couple that with the fact that Khimki doesn’t play well on the road, Spartak should come out with three points in their quest for the title but Khimki cannot be allowed to gain confidence or this match will turn. Khimki can reverse this fortune though, if they are patient, mark tight and stack the midfield with counter-attacking in their mind-set. Spartak’s own defensive woes are their biggest problem and Austrian International Martin Stranzl and Martin Jiránek need to shore up the weak line. If you’re watching the match, keep a close eye towards Roman Pavluchenko and one of the most exciting young players that should be high on everyones transfer list, Vladimir Bystrov.
