Danni joins Zenit for €30m

By: j | August 25th, 2008

As noted previously Zenit has been in hot pursuit of Dynamo Moscow, ex Sporting midfielder Danni (Miguel Alves Gomes) and after the clubs success this weekend, they’ve decided to go full bore towards a European run and have paid Dynamo’s asking price of €30m. With Dynamo, Danny has consistently been an instrumental key to their attack and will have flourish in Zenit’s midfield of Anatoliy Tymoschuk, Viktor Faitzulin, Igor Denisov and Konstantin Zyryanov. He will be available for this Friday’s UEFA Super Cup against Manchester United in Monaco which is a high priority for Zenit Saint Petersburg.

CSKA’s now ample war-chest is readying for a major move in the transfer market. Once I confirm my sources I will report on their target.

Corey – I think people haven’t come to terms yet with the financial resources of some clubs in Football and how situations like these are going to occur quite a bit more.
