CSKA Moscow wins 3-1 at De Kuip

By: j | November 6th, 2008

CSKA Moscow defeated Feyenoord 3-1 at De Kuip, lead by Vágner Love’s two goal. The match started peculiarly as the Eredivisie club’s captain Giovanni van Bronckhorst spotted CSKA a own-goal at the fourteenth minute when he redirected Yuri Zhirkov’s corner past his own keeper. However with the match open on both ends of the pitch, he then proceeded to level it fifteen minutes later off Roy Makaay’s cross. Five minutes before the break the enterprising Brazilian Vágner Love gave Koni the lead and then proceeded to lock down the match with textbook defending. Finally with nine minutes remaining Russian international Yuri Zhirkov sent a pass to Vágner, who converted from twelve meters out.
