Blagoi Georgiev joins Terek Grozny

Terek Grozny bolstered its forces significantly by signing Blagoi Georgiev from Slavia Sofia today. After stops in Deportivo Alavés, MSV Duisburg and legendary Belgrade side Crvena Zvezda, he returned this year to the Bulgarian club where he started his professional career in 2000 but has now since decided to test the waters in Russia. With a fee of approximately €1.5m, the twenty-seven year-old will join fellow Bulgarian international Valentin Iliev as the Grozny club looks to move up the table.
After considering offers from Schalke 04 in the German Bundesliga and Lecce in Serie A, he decided to make his new home in Russia by signing a new four-year contract. Shown with his preferred number seven the attacking midfielder will have an immediate and prounced impact for Terek.
