Andrei Arshavin to Tottenham update 1
By: j | July 31st, 2008
In an update to the Andrei Arshavin transfer rumour to Tottenham, Russian news agencies are now reporting that a deal is very close to being completed. Per Konstantin Sarsaniya of Zenit St. Petersburg contact with Tottenham has been made and deal is in the offing within the next five days. The one stumbling block is that Zenit is reputedly holding strong at £21.5 m valuation and that could be beyond the Spurs bank account.
I will update this situation as additional information is available.

This is tough negotiation and we’ll have to see how this plays out and it all comes down to how much liquid cash Tottenham has. They need to virtually hit the asking price with clubs with a combined total in the £35-40m range. With Roman I dont see him leaving Moscow for the Spurs (Chelsea could have been a possibility) but that could change in Andrei made the switch.
